The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) has updated its long-standing Managed Audit Program (MAP) publication which provides the explanation and benefits available to taxpayers participating in the program. Under the program, certain taxpayers are allowed to perform a type of self-audit, conducting some of the tasks that would ordinarily be performed by a CDTFA auditor. This can allow an audit to proceed more quickly and if tax is due, interest is reduced by one-half of the otherwise applicable rate.
