Todd Luoma resolves tax controversies with the IRS and all California state tax agencies, at all administrative and judicial levels for our clients. He has significant experience defending taxpayers during audits, appeals, and in collection matters.
Todd is a former Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice Tax Division. His litigation practice includes trying tax disputes before the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Courts, U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, as well as in California Superior Courts. James Bourbeau is highly skilled in worker classification and wage and hour matters before the IRS and the California Employment Development Department (EDD), where he worked previously as an attorney. Jim handles cases with tax assessments ranging from a few thousand dollars to millions of dollars and regularly appears at hearings throughout California before the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board (CUIAB). Michael Pearson is extremely knowledgeable in transactional corporate tax matters, including entity formation and daily operations, sales, and liquidation.
