Cheesesteak Restaurant Owners Plead Guilty to Tax Conspiracy

by | May 17, 2022 | Audits, DOJ, IRS, Tax Crimes |

For more than a decade, two owners of Tony Luke’s Philadelphia Cheesesteak Restaurant paid employees partially in cash in order to defraud the IRS by reporting and paying lower payroll taxes.  They were also charged with conspiracy to defraud the government by concealing over $8 million in gross receipts to pay lower income taxes.  The father and son each face up to five years in custody and a period of supervised release.
