The IRS is making it easier for taxpayers to prepare for the filing season with updates and important information that may help lower your tax liability for 2025. By now, all taxpayers should have an online account with the IRS, which may be established or accessed here.
The IRS also has a variety of checklists to help you get organized, avoid identity theft by obtaining an Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN), and providing instructions to connect your bank account to the IRS for payments and refunds (now required to be handled electronically for most taxpayers).
