The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) recently issued a report regarding the heightened possible risk to exposure of taxpayer data due to the temporary deferral of obtaining fingerprinting and employment eligibility verification for new IRS employees hired during the pandemic, and recommendations to confirm employment eligibility status of new employees.
