California EDD Measures Demand for Nurses, Truck Drivers, and Retail Work

Not surprisingly, in the EDD’s annual Labor Day Briefing the Department noted that registered nurses are the most in-demand occupations in California, along with operations managers for occupations identified as high-skilled.  As we continue to recover form the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to see significant job postings for truck drivers, bookkeepers, accountants and audit clerks, and for those with a high school diploma or less, the EDD says retail salespeople, laborers, freight and stock workers are in high demand.

In April 2020, California reached a peak unemployment rate of 16 percent, however that number has been reduced throughout California every month since then with robust job growth throughout the state.
