Today the IRS released statistics today regarding individual income tax returns filed so far during the 2014 filing season, an update from statistics released last week. The statistics reflect that 31,308,000 returns filed so far in 2014 showed refunds, up from 27,100,000 a year ago at the same point in the filing season. The average refund is also up from last year by almost $200.
